Leadership Roane County is co-sponsored by the Roane County Chamber and Roane State Community College. The program develops informed leaders who stay active in community life and support a volunteer culture dedicated to the positive growth of Roane County.

Five objectives that shape every class
- Objective 1
To develop a common understanding among leaders of the broad issues facing the county.
- Objective 2
To create a relaxed, neutral environment for problem solving.
- Objective 3
To provide an opportunity and information base for thoughtful study relating to some of the compelling concerns of Roane County residents.

To create a forum in which significant dialogue can develop between present and future leaders.

Seven months in the room, one in the community
Classes run over an eight-month period across leadership skills, city and state government, economic and industrial development, quality of life and environment, health care, education and the law. Participants meet with state and local leaders and tour local businesses, government offices and educational institutions — then complete one or more service projects that leave a lasting mark on the county.
